This past week I have had the amazing opportunity to work with Yifei Xu as part of the 1:2:1 composer/performer intensive organized by Nick Photinos. It’s been an amazing week of collaborating, creating and discussing with Yifei and the other participants, as well as some of my new music idols Yvonne Lam, Vicky Chow, Jennifer Higdon and of course Nick!

Super excited to share University of Kentucky Faculty Brass Quintet’s new album "New Works for Brass Quintet"! They recorded my piece Brass Quintet No. 1 alongside other new works by Ben Beckman, Nicole Piunno, Sy Brandon, Jaclyn Breeze, Stas Omelchenko, MArk Zanter, Ryan George, and Franklin Hanson.

R e : W o r k s was such a success that my collab partner Chris Vu and I decided to come out with a volume II! I am excited to be remixing a work by Ryan David Stevens. The album will be released on Bandcamp & SoundCloud.

ALONE: A Digital Concert Series is hosted by the wonderful people of lesdeux duo. I’m super excited to be featured on their first concert and can’t wait to share my newest piece/improvisation for trumpet + electronics “I am afraid that I am not learning fast enough”
Due to the 2020 Covid-19 Pandemic New Music on the Point has opted to commission past alumni instead of hosting a 2020 festival. They have asked me and my good friend Elsie Han to team up and present a new work for viola and electronics titled “today… I will practice remembering” that will premiere as part of their zoom concert on July 11th.

Excited and humbled to announce that Boston based new music group Sorry for Yelling has asked me to write a piece for their inaugural show. They have asked 8 other composers and myself to write a piece in 24 hours and this show is the result!

I’m excited to announce I’ll be a part of Sõ Percussion’s (2019) Summer Institute as a composition fellow. I’ll be writing and working with the 2019 percussion fellows as well as Sõ Percussion on a new work for percussion quartet.

I’ll be attending New Music on the Point (2019) as a composition participant. As part of the festival I’ve been commissioned to write a piece for saxophone, double bass and two percussionists and I’ll be working with saxophonist Erin Rogers!
